The American Dental Association recommends the removal of wisdom teeth if they become infected, cause damage to other teeth or show signs of decay. Very often, wisdom teeth extraction is done in a person’s late teen years or early twenties. This is the ideal time to do the procedure if there is evidence of wisdom teeth related issues and infections. Adults over 30 may still benefit from this procedure if there is evidence that it is warranted.
